Multiomics Guidelines

A call to action for the development of next-generation multiomics benchmarks. Authored by an steering committee of leading experts from both academia and industry.

A New Inititative for Multiomics Benchmarking

Inspired by the success of the Small Molecule Steering Committee, a diverse group of leading experts from both academia and industry formed a new steering committee to develop guidelines for next generation multiomics benchmarks.

In its first article. they call for the broader support from the community to address a crucial bottleneck in the translation of multiomics AI research into tangible drug discovery impact.

The authors advocate for a fundamental shift in benchmarking strategies, proposing a set of core principles for developing actionable, next-generation multiomics AI benchmarks that are specifically tailored to early-stage drug discovery goals. This includes emphasizing open, transparent datasets, biology-inspired tasks, meticulous baseline comparisons, and shared benchmarking platforms.
